We are pleased to invite you to the onsite event ‘National Competence Centres: Strengthening the Contribution’, which will take place on 8–9 September in Athens, Greece. This event is organised by the National Competence Centres Working Group under the Community of Practice on Social Innovation and Transnational Calls Team.

The event will focus on how National Competence Centres (NCCs) can strengthen their contribution to addressing societal challenges by reflecting on the services they provide, the capacities they have developed, and their role within national social innovation ecosystems. Attention will be given to how NCCs can help ensure that the voices of vulnerable groups are better represented in the design, implementation and scaling of social innovation.

Through keynote presentations, roundtable discussions and collaborative group work, participants will exchange experiences on how NCCs support practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders in developing, scaling and mainstreaming social innovation. The event will also explore the role of NCCs as knowledge brokers and advisers in impact measurement and monitoring and discuss learning-oriented approaches to evaluating NCC activities.
